Key Objectives/ Deliverables

Reporting to the Project Manager and working in a small design team the role holder will be technically competent in the area of Mobile Site Design activities. This will include but not limited to design activity on UK mobile networks, and potentially developing capability for design activity of Fibre and EV charging installations. The role holder will demonstrate professionalism and flexibility when contacting internal & external personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Triage incoming design requests and information supplied and advise viability of design direction internally and request additional information from client when necessary.
  • Collaboration with back-office Genesis delivery team, Offshore CAD team and internal CAD resource and dependency vendors.
  • Develop and manage onshore and offshore vendors, including SLA requirements.
  • Develop and manage a design library and keep Genesis and our partners up to date with latest design guides and operator specifications.
  • QA verification of CAD outputs such as Amends, PD, GA, DD, As built etc.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues arising in design process.
  • Advise on specific MSV capture requirements when required.
  • When necessary step in and assist and support creation of CAD drawings.
  • Attend Site surveys & audits when required.

Operational Experience

Essential

  • Expert level knowledge of Site Design and build (passive and active elements) .
  • At least 2 years design experience of 4G – 5G radio products into UK mobile networks, either Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung and Huawei. Preferably more than one vendor solution.
  • At least 2 years design experience of the site design requirements of Cornerstone, MBNL, Telefonica, Vodafone, Three, EE/BT. Plus experience of Cellnex site design requirements.
  • Cooperation with 3rd parties, customers, and site providers to facilitate completion of design tasks
  • Accurately completing any Hand Over Packs within agreed SLAs

Desirable

  • Adaptability with experience of working across multiple projects
  • Previous experience working for or with an ADC or SWC, Genesis / Nokia / Ericsson / Telefonica / Vodafone / EE/BT, Cornerstone, MBNL, Cellnex or Arqiva.
  • CDM 2015 awareness

Academic & Technical Background

Essential

  • BTEC ONC/OND in a technical subject
  • Experience and proficient with Auto CAD / AutoCAD LT
  • Experience and knowledge of QGIS
  • All required H&S certification for attending street works & rooftops:
  • RF awareness
  • Asbestos awareness
  • Rooftop access (fixed ladder)
